Jean-Jacques Rousseau Park

Walk from La Crêperie du Parc to Chaalis Abbey via the Ermenonville State Forest
Between Jean-Jacques Rousseau Park in Ermenonville and the Royal Abbey of Chaalis, in a geographically compact area located twelve leagues northeast of Paris, the small Launette valley successively attracted Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712–1778), Étienne Pivert de Senancour (1770–1846), and Gérard de Nerval (1808–1855). They turned this already spiritually rich area into one of the birthplaces of French literary Romanticism.
